About Us…

Hi, I’m Acacia, founder of Oakahia.

With nearly 20 years of experience within hospitality and events, I’ve always loved creating spaces that feel welcoming, memorable and full of atmosphere. Over the years, I’ve managed events, run busy hospitality venues and worked closely with customers to bring celebrations to life. Eventually, I realised my favourite part was always the creative side behind the scenes.

Oakahia was born from that passion and has quickly become something incredibly personal to our family. The name itself is made from our children’s names, making this business even more meaningful to us and representing everything we are working towards.

What started as a creative hobby has grown into a family run business that my partner and I are building together from the ground up. While I focus on the styling, planning and creative vision, my partner is a huge part of Oakahia behind the scenes too, helping with installations, set ups, collections, problem solving and all the hard work that goes into making each event come together smoothly.

We specialise in elegant, modern event styling that feels personal, welcoming and thoughtfully designed. From balloon installations and backdrops to statement décor and finishing touches, our aim is to create beautiful spaces that help make memories people genuinely remember.

As a growing business, we are constantly expanding our ideas, inventory and creativity, and we are so grateful for every booking, recommendation and person supporting our journey so far. Our dream is to continue building something stable, meaningful and lasting, not just for ourselves, but for our children to one day look back on proudly.
